1. Who is the point of contact for STARS? (Date posted – 8/03/05)
A. Please check the STARS FAQs first to see if your question has already been answered. If not, please contact the iManage Help Desk at i-Manage.HelpDesk@hq.doe.gov or by phone at 301-903-2500 or 866-834-6246 (choose Option #4).
2. Will all contractors be granted access to STARS? (Date posted – 3/10/04)
A. We do not anticipate Integrated Contractors having direct access to STARS at this time. However, Support Services contractors will be allowed access.
3. What is STARS and what will it do for me?(Date posted – 4/20/04)
A. STARS is a financial system that records and processes accounting transactions for general accounting, payments, receivables, purchasing including obligations and reservations, accruals, plant and capital equipment, nuclear materials accounting and many other functions. STARS is also used for financial reporting including FACTS I & II, SF 220.9 and SF 224. STARS replaced both DISCAS and MARS.
If you are a STARS user, STARS will provide you with dropdown boxes and easy-to-use intranet capabilities so that you can spend less time entering data and more time performing analysis. If you are not a STARS user you may obtain financial information through access to the new iManage Data Warehouse (IDW). Please note that although the IDW contains financial information beginning with FY 2005 it does not contain prior year historical data. This means that automated reports that draw comparisons to periods prior to FY 2005 are not available.
4. Where can I find out information on what is currently happening with the iManage STARS project? (Date posted – 8/04/05)
A. The STARS mailbox will send out post deployment information and a communiqué as needed featuring STARS information. To be added to the communiqué mailing list, contact STARS@hq.doe.gov with the subject line "COMMUNIQUÉ".
